dear Doug,

awesome!! that's just one word to describe this last week with you in beautiful mexico.. it was more than i had hoped for (and believe me, i had high hopes - already knowing that a week with you in paradise was gonna be wonderful!), and you made it the best week ever!

the first time we went to cancun in 2003 was magical.. even though we had only known each other for 6 months (scandalous!), that trip was beyond comparison.. and it was a huge step for us, and was a trip i will never forget.. the whole trip was about becoming us, about being together, about falling in love even more.. and you made that trip the most memorable of my life..

the second trip last year was TOO FUN!! omg we were silly, just like we always are, and we had a blast! i know we didn't stay in the best hotel there, but lord, we had a great time, and we came away from that trip with new dialogues and new crazinesses of our relationship.. that's the way you are - you make our time together totally unforgettable and even have a way of making something new come out of it..

this year was another amazing trip.. we have been looking forward to getting the heck outta dodge for a long time, and we sooooooo needed some down time.. this time instead of staying in busy crazy cancun, we traveled south to playa del carmen.. and omg we stayed in the most breathtaking mind-blowing stunning resort! we were waited on hand and foot, and we never had to ask twice for anything (well, except trying to get the bartender to remember herradura instead of well brand tequila!).. the view outside our balcony was magnificent, and daily we sat out there just gawking at how gorgeous the ocean is.. we had tons of laughs, tons of food, tons of tequila and rum.. we were beside ourselves with the "snakes on a ..." bit we were doing.. and we shared so many new moments together, and fell deeper in love..

i can really never express the depths of my love for you.. you make even the most exciting, beautiful, powerful place seem inconsequential in comparison to the man you are and what you give to our relationship.. you bring the sun to a cloudy day, and make it bright and warm.. you give healing to a weary body when there doesn't seem to be strength to make it through.. you cause laughter and smiles and the most deepest of wonderful memories to an already great time - and make it lasting and forever ingrained in my soul.. and you give your whole self to me, and make me glad to be alive, even back in dallas texas and a thousand miles from "paradise"..

Sir, your love is the true paradise, and that makes me about the luckiest most blessedededed girl in the world - to live the dream i've always had - the good life with a man named Doug..

and this was after a week of ALL-INCLUSIVE fun in playa del carmen, just south of cancuuuuun!!! i tell ya, we ate everything and drank even more than everything... LAWD it was crazy..

now back to being a good girl (eating-wise, anyway) and hoping to hit jenny's ass hard this week

my very first blogola post was on this day last year, and it's amazing that a whole year has passed by so quickly!!

hopefully i can make this year in blogland a bit more interesting than last.. but reading back over some of my past posts, i see that i had a not-toooooooo-dull year to write about!!

45 days in --- have lost 2.9 pounds since august 12...

total loss so far: 18.1 pounds

and tomorrow we go to cancuuuuuuuuuun... gonna have a great time of food and tequila, but will really try to keep it all in check, well, except the tequila..

hoping to work out at our resort several times, so that might help..

cancuuuuuuuuuuuuuun!!

Doug and i are leaving sunday morning for cancun! this will be our 3rd trip there, and we are so excited.. besides being together for a whole week with no work, no obligations, no horrible dallas commute - we will be staying in an all-inclusive adults only resort in playa del carmen! i think the "adults only" part of that is what we are so stoked about.. plus all-inclusive food and drink ain't bad either!!

we both love the sun and the water, so cancun has been paradise for us.. we have always had great weather while being there - although both trips saw flirtations with hurricanes..

tropical storm claudette hit while we were there in 2003, and it was soooooo cool.. we stood out by the pool area and had our first kiss in the rain.. it was magical.. the porter came running out to us yelling "la tormenta! la tormenta!" but we just stayed out a while and enjoyed mother nature and ourselves.. definitely a lyric moment in my life - falling deeper in love with Doug, and feeling the power of nature all around us.. *** huge sighhhhhhh *** then there was the "please don't stop" incident (remember that, babe?).. *** another sighhhhhhhhhh ***

then last year, we were there in october, and we had absolutely perfecto weather, and then wilma hit just a few days after we left.. you can see my cancun posts from last year here... last year's trip was toooooo fun.. and we added to our already crazy vocab with expressions like "como se dice?" and "enchiladas de los muertos" .. and we discovered herradura tequila!!!

this year promises to be even better.. we are more in love (if that can even be possible - but it is), and more in lust (god, my man is HOT!).. we are looking forward to some pervery times in hot sweaty cancun.. and we are looking forward to some killer food, and naughty, naughty tequila!

i am sure we will bring back tons of new experiences, phrases, memories.. we always do.. it's just the way we roll.. fun, love, sex, sun, tequila - that is us.. always will be..

it is truly a phenomenon - all three rocker boys of Supernova were cured instantaneously of a several-week bout of shared dementia when, at the end of last night's show, they finally booted kooky warbler, zayra, off the show.. doctors and psychologists alike were baffled at the triumvirate's sudden enlightenment, and predict smoove sailing from here on til the end of the show's season..

god speed, zayra... your mind control techniques that held Supernova captive have now been shattered, and you are free now to perform in side shows across the country..

i went and got TPC's cd at lunch, and listened to as much as i could on my break.. it's truly a great cd - takes me back to the concert we attended in may when i was standing right in front of the band.. you know, the one where i touched dave's hand while he was playing.. the one where steve and i shared several moments of shameful, yet meaningful, lingering looks.. (ahem)

steve isaacs' voice is clear and strong and totally rocks! chris chaney's bass is incredibly intricate and provides the low, hard resonance the rest of the band builds on.. stephen perkins' drumming is dynamic and drives the band forward.. and dave's powerful guitar on this cd makes me remember just why i loved jane's addiction so much --- he is killer!!

i'm sure i will have this cd on a loop for a while.. more than a year waiting for this, and now it's in my hot little hands!

only thing missing is a nakey picture of the band!!

Doug and i saw TPC at the Gypsy Tea Room in May, and we were standing right at the stage.. while almost every girl (and guy, too) was staring at, drooling over, exposing themselves to Dave, i found myself drawn to Steve.. now, i'm sure that he has tons of fans, and mucho adulation from hot chicks, but i tell ya - during most of their set i watched him (yes, ok, occasionally [haha] i glanced at Dave) and i swear Steve saw me watching him.. and we connected..

it's like the roberta flack song where the dude is killing her softly with his song... whewww, damn!

definitely a sweet time... just another reason i love this band - they sure know how to connect with their fans..

even plain, normal, run-of-the mill fans like me..

WOW! one month, and over 13 pounds are gone!! i can definitely tell the difference in various ways - the way my skirts are fitting, how it's a tad easier getting motivated to exercise, and most importantly - in bed.. i won't go into the horny details, but some positions are just, well, yummy-er with some of the weight gone!

after seeing "Clerks II" the other night, Doug and i were talking about all the Jay and Silent Bob movies we have seen, and got to laughing about "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back".. we have both seen that movie several times because we are crazy silly like that, and we were repeating dialogue together..

we got to the part where Ben Affleck was telling the clueless pair about the internet, and Jay chimes in with this classic quip: "You know, maybe one night me and Lunch Box are out; we're mackin' some chick and shit, and she's, like, "Ooooh, I want to suck youse guys' dicks off.." (shakespearean, i know - but bear with me...)
