a cancun-y love letter to you...

dear Doug,

awesome!! that's just one word to describe this last week with you in beautiful mexico.. it was more than i had hoped for (and believe me, i had high hopes - already knowing that a week with you in paradise was gonna be wonderful!), and you made it the best week ever!

the first time we went to cancun in 2003 was magical.. even though we had only known each other for 6 months (scandalous!), that trip was beyond comparison.. and it was a huge step for us, and was a trip i will never forget.. the whole trip was about becoming us, about being together, about falling in love even more.. and you made that trip the most memorable of my life..

the second trip last year was TOO FUN!! omg we were silly, just like we always are, and we had a blast! i know we didn't stay in the best hotel there, but lord, we had a great time, and we came away from that trip with new dialogues and new crazinesses of our relationship.. that's the way you are - you make our time together totally unforgettable and even have a way of making something new come out of it..

this year was another amazing trip.. we have been looking forward to getting the heck outta dodge for a long time, and we sooooooo needed some down time.. this time instead of staying in busy crazy cancun, we traveled south to playa del carmen.. and omg we stayed in the most breathtaking mind-blowing stunning resort! we were waited on hand and foot, and we never had to ask twice for anything (well, except trying to get the bartender to remember herradura instead of well brand tequila!).. the view outside our balcony was magnificent, and daily we sat out there just gawking at how gorgeous the ocean is.. we had tons of laughs, tons of food, tons of tequila and rum.. we were beside ourselves with the "snakes on a ..." bit we were doing.. and we shared so many new moments together, and fell deeper in love..

i can really never express the depths of my love for you.. you make even the most exciting, beautiful, powerful place seem inconsequential in comparison to the man you are and what you give to our relationship.. you bring the sun to a cloudy day, and make it bright and warm.. you give healing to a weary body when there doesn't seem to be strength to make it through.. you cause laughter and smiles and the most deepest of wonderful memories to an already great time - and make it lasting and forever ingrained in my soul.. and you give your whole self to me, and make me glad to be alive, even back in dallas texas and a thousand miles from "paradise"..

Sir, your love is the true paradise, and that makes me about the luckiest most blessedededed girl in the world - to live the dream i've always had - the good life with a man named Doug..
